Wild Earth: African Plains Edition Ride Concept, Development and Launch
Utilizing an award-winning photo-safari game, EnTCo's The Ride Works® developed a vehicle-based, multiplayer education attraction aimed at the FEC and Zoo/Museum/Aquaria markets.
Two guests load into a XSpeed eMotion Theatre themed for an African safari and roam freely across the Serengeti in search of wildlife. Joined by voiceover guides, Ron N. Wilde and Sara N. Getty, the adventurers interactively determine their path through the wilderness and encounter many species of African animals. The pictures they take appear in a souvenir article printed especially for them as they exit the attraction.
A huge success in over 6 locations worldwide, the launch of the system at IAAPA in 2004 received Best New Product for FEC's and formed the basis for the Philadelphia Zoo project that received a 2005 Thea Award.
